What is AEGEE?
In the acronyms AEGEE is "Association des Etats general Etudiants de l'Europe" or simply "European Students Forum."
It consists of headquarters (or antennas) present in 240 university cities, scattered in 40 European countries. Thus, we have offices provided by the Port St. Petersburg, Rome to Tampere, Istanbul to Dublin!
It is composed and directed by students being made up of about 15 000 students and young graduates.
AEGEE is a non political, no religion and non-profit and has as main goal the European spirit thus promoting the image of a Europe united, open and without borders. These objectives are achieved through projects, trips, workshops, cultural exchanges and activities in which universities collaborate across Europe.
With AEGEE you can participate in thousands of events and, what is even better, you can organize them yourself! From a conference in Holland on the conflict in the Middle East until a week skiing in Slovenia, through debates about global warming and the famous Summer Universities, these are some of the examples of AEGEE at the European level.
The international environment and diversity of the AEGEE is the best of all: meet young people, traveling around Europe, in cities and countries that never thought to travel, learn their culture and way of life, be able to participate actively in the education of your country, practice (and learn!) languages, learn how to organize events ... and much, much more!
The AEGEE is made by all of us and you will decide is what you do with it. AEGEE Porto challenges you to participate actively in the association! Contact Us! Ask any of the members which are the meanings of AEGEE for them and see that the answers will be different, personal, with stories of the places they already visited, people they met and the languages they learned ...
